Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Legendary rocker Peter Frampton has filed for divorce from Christina Elfers, his wife of 15 years.

According to TMZ, Frampton filed in an L.A. County Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences.

Frampton wants joint legal custody with primary physical custody going to Elfers. They have one minor daughter together named Mia who is an actress.

Elfers also has an adult daughter named Tiffany from a previous relationship.

Frampton rose to fame with the 1975 hit “Baby I Love You Way,” a song which has been featured in a number of feature films over the years.

The couple has been married since 1996.

This will be Frampton’s third divorce.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Bruce Springsteen gave the eulogy at the funeral for friend and saxophonist of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band Clarence Clemons in a private by-invitation service.

The service for Clemons, who was nicknamed “The Big Man”, included 150 friends and family members which included three of his four ex-wives.

“Clarence was a man of unconditional love, but his love came with a lot of conditions,” Springsteen said during the eulogy.

“He was a complex guy … an ongoing project. But when you were in his presence, it was like being in a sovereign nation,” he added.

The service included performances by Bruce Springsteen, the E Street Band, Jackson Browne, and a saxophone solo of “Amazing Grace” performed by Clemons’ nephew.

Clemons died Saturday from complications of a stroke he suffered a week earlier at the age of 69.

LA, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – The royal wedding may have been all the hype in April, but another couple’s soon-to-be-seen nuptials are stealing the spotlight. The Twilight saga continues in Breaking Dawn: Part 1, with a very special wedding–and a very special dress.

Kristen Stewart’s character, Bella, will be wearing a dress designed by none other than top designer Carolina Herrera. Herrera has many celeb fans, including Amy Adams, January Jones, and Dianna Agron.

The film’s Twitter page recently announced, “On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in #BreakingDawnPart1!”

Bella will be in good company. Herrera has also designed dresses for celebrities such as Christina Hendricks and Renee Zellweger.

The trailer for the film features a quick shot of Bella’s veil, but if viewers look closely, they’ll also see part of the bodice as well.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Police are searching for the person who stole a religious relic nearly 800 years old from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in downtown Long Beach Monday morning.

Officials with the Los Angeles Archdiocese said the relic of St. Anthony and the 16-inch case, or reliquary, that is stored in were taken from a church cabinet.

The church rarely showcases the relic and says it’s so valuable it had been nine years since it was on public display.

“There’s some tough times right now out in the economy,” said Father Jose Magana, the pastor at the church near 6th Street and Olive Avenue. “People are losing hope. So we said let’s bring the image, let’s bring the relic so people can pray with it and get close to it.”

In Catholicism, St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost or missing things.

The 16 inch relic believed to be close to 780 years old had been kept in case with angel-shaped handles.

Father Magana says he doesn’t regret his decision to showcase the relic and is confident someone will return it.

Police have a person of interest and she is described as someone who had shown unusual interest in the relic. She is also described as a Hispanic woman, 35 to 45 years old, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, with dark brown hair.

Police believe the person who took it may not know its historical value nor what it’s worth.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – The Coalition for the War on Illegal Pornography believes that NBC’s new series “The Playboy Club” is promoting the cause they are fighting against.

The group believes that the show will contribute to the sexual exploitation of women and promote the acceptance of pornography all while making a profit.

“Since the 50s, sleazy Hugh Hefner and his Playboy Magazine has pushed a philosophy which dictated that, to the ‘sophisticated man,’ the female is a mere toy to be used, abused and discarded. That philosophy has inflicted unimaginable harm to our society, now documented by years of research,” Patrick A. Trueman, the President of Morality in Media said in a statement.

“Today – with the cooperation of NBC and the network’s use of the public airwaves – Playboy is poised to cause even more harm, this time bringing its sleaze directly into America’s living rooms. We don’t need NBC to pour more fuel to that fire,” he added.

Trueman wants citizens to sign a pledge at www.CloseTheClubOnNBC.com to help halt production of the series.

“The Playboy Club” is scheduled to be a part of NBC’s lineup this fall.

Sanaa, Yemen (AHN) – Despite his wounds, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh plans to return to the country to resume is 33-year rule, Vice President Abd al-Rab Mansur al-Hadi said on Monday. Saleh is confined in a Saudi Arabia hospital for treatment of wounds sustained during an artillery attack on his home last week.

Yemen’s opposition said Mansur is acceptable to them, but the vice president is still deferring to Saleh and refused to accept the leadership post. Mansur even met with the U.S. ambassador and senior European Union diplomats to convey Saleh’s message that the latter intends to return to Yemen.

Mansur added that Saleh is recovering swiftly from his battle injuries. Reports said that Saleh required major surgery to remove shrapnel from his chest and to reconstruct his face. He is expected to need at least one week to recover from his medical operations and another week for meetings.

In the light of Mansur’s refusal to accept the president’s position, the Yemeni opposition is eyeing the establishment of a transitional council. The refusal of Saleh to step down from power and the insistence by the opposition of having a new national leader raised fears of a bloody revolution for the strife-torn Middle Eastern nation.

Mansur’s hesitation to take on power could be because of the presence of Saleh’s son, Ahmed, and nephew, Yahya, who lead an elite force based in Sanaa to ensure Saleh’s grip on power.

The British government, in anticipation of bloodier days ahead, sent a contingent of Royal Marines to be on standby off the coast of Yemen ready to evacuate Britons and other western nationals still in the country.

LA, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) – Queen Latifah’s new show on VH1 “Single Ladies” focuses on a group of three girlfriends trying to work their way through the world of men in very different ways. The shows stars Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy, and Charity Shea.

On a recent episode of “Big Morning Buzz Live,” Latifah and McCoy were all smiles during their appearance.

The host invited them to play a game called “nasty and unacceptable nasty.” The name of the game itself was sure to lead to laughs and McCoy’s quick response of “acceptable nasty” about sex on the first date had the audience in hysterics. Adding to the humor was Latifah who was adimant about unacceptable foot fetishes.

Things weren’t all laughs, however, during McCoy’s appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show.” The host and guest first talked about the show, comparing McCoy’s character to Samantha Jones from “Sex and the City.” When Williams breached the topic of possible fights on set, McCoy’s demeanor shifted.

McCoy said, “I am too grown to put myself in that position.” She added that there were no physical altercations between herself and castmember Dash, but when “filming 13-15 hours a day, there’s going to be creative differences, there’s going to be some words exchanged.” She then noted, “At the end of the day, we’re making a great product.

Vienna, Austria (AHN) – A prototype of a Leica camera built in 1923 was sold for $1.89 million at an auction in Austria on Saturday setting a new price record for a camera.

A private collector from Asia won the bidding for the rare 0-Serie Nr.107, one of 25 Leica cameras auctioned off by WestLicht Photographica Auctions. The camera was built two years before Leicas were sold commercially.

The bidding for the camera started at $286,360 and went on for 20 minutes before the auctioneer declared it sold, according to WestLicht.

The previous record holder for the most expensive camera was a daguerreotype, which was auctioned off for $1.048 million last year. The French brand was the first commercially produced camera.

Paris, France (AHN) – There are now two official contenders for the post vacated recently by former International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde, who enjoys the support of European nations, officially declared her availability for the top IMF post. She is the second official candidate after Mexico nominated Mexican Central Bank Governor Agustin Carstens earlier this week.

Addressing the growing global call for the IMF to appoint a new managing director based on merit and not geography, Lagarde insisted she is not resting her candidacy on her being a European. She said her geographic origin should not be a plus or minus for her candidacy when the IMF selects who should replace Strauss-Kahn, who resigned over sexual assault charges.

While Lagarde is assured of at least one-third of the votes on the IMF board, directors of the fund representing Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa pushed for an end to the decades-old gentleman’s agreement that the managing director should be a European.

The swing vote could possibly be the U.S., which holds one-fifth of the IMF board votes. However, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner refused to show his cards and commented only that Carstens and Lagarde are talented and credible candidates. However, the White House is expected to support Lagarde’s candidacy.

The 55-year-old Lagarde worked as a lawyer for 25 years before she joined politics in 2005. However, observers said her credentials for the top IMF post are beyond question. She was also a former national synchronized swimming medalist and often described as the rock star of the financial world.

The French finance minister said she officially declared her availability after personal reflection and consultation with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

NY, NY, United States (AHN Sports) – It’s not the end of the world as we know it, like the words of a rock song once said.

Despite the predictions of some doomsayers calling for apocalypse now, as in today, they apparently will have to wait some time longer.

Although there were some small earthquakes reported in Iceland, May 21, 2011 came and went without incident.

Harold Camping, the preacher who predicted the gloom and doom for the day, issued a brief statement referencing the end of daytime talk … as we know it.

“The world doesn’t end this week. Oprah does. My bad, sry.”

Camping’s ministry, through its Family Radio website, had stated: “On May 21, 2011 two events will occur,” the group predicts. “A great earthquake (that) will be so powerful it will throw open all graves. The remains of all the believers who have ever lived will be instantly transformed into glorified spiritual bodies to be forever with God.

“On the other hand the bodies of all unsaved people will be thrown out upon the ground to be shamed. The inhabitants who survive this terrible earthquake will exist in a world of horror and chaos beyond description.”
